Australian dealer profitability, as measured by net profit as a percentage of sales (NP%S), for the fourth quarter of 2019 was 0.7%, leaving the average dealer at 0.9% for the 2019 calendar year - the same as for the average dealer in 2018.

Australian dealer profitability, as measured by net profit as a percentage of sales (NP%S), for the third quarter of 2019 was 0.6%, leaving the average dealer at 1.0% for the first nine months of 2019. This compared to 1.1% for the same period in 2018.

Australian dealer profitability, as measured by net profit as a percentage of sales (NP%S), for the second quarter of 2019 was 1.2%, leaving the average dealer at 1.0% for the first half of 2019. This compared to 1.5% for the first half of 2018.

Australian dealer profitability, as measured by net profit as a percentage of sales (NP%S), for the third quarter of 2018 was 0.3%. This left the YTD position at the end of September at 1.1%, down by -0.5% on the same period in 2017.

Australian dealer profitability, as measured by net profit as a percentage of sales (NP%S), for the second quarter of 2018 was 1.5%. This left the first half of the year at 1.5%, down by -0.7% on the same period in 2017.

The dealer profitability, as measured by net profit as a percentage of sales (NP%S), for the first quarter of 2018 was 1.6%. This was in line with the same period in 2017, and up by +0.2% on the final quarter of 2017.

The dealer profitability, as measured by net profit as a percentage of sales (NP%S), for the fourth quarter of 2017 was 1.4%. This was 0.2% lower than the fourth quarter of 2016. As a result, the average dealer finished 2017 with NP%S of 1.6%, down from 1.8% in 2016.

The dealer profitability, as measured by net profit as a percentage of sales (NP%S), for the third quarter of 2017 was recorded at 1.0%, which is 0.1% lower than the third quarter of 2016. While overall dealership revenue grew by 15% YoY, expenses also grew by 12% which kept the growth in profitability down.
